Fury Sign Four Players
Fayetteville, NC., – The Fayetteville Fury recently added four players to its rosters as both the men’s and women’s teams gear up for home openers on January 9th.
Horacio Gutierrez born and raised in El Paso, TX. Played for Grand Canyon University (NCAA D1) for two years then transferred to Mississippi College (NCAA D2). Went on to play the 2019 season for Kingborough Lions United FC in the NPL Tasmania, the 2nd tier of professional soccer in Australia. Had 11 goals (led team) and 2 assists in 15 appearances. Nominated for team of the week in various occasions, goal of the year, and finished 8th in NPL’s “Best and Fairest” player voting. Most recently competed on a TV reality show called Exatlon on Telemundo.
Cameron Steele is a North Carolina native, and played at NC State, and Penn State during his college career. After college Steele played professionally for North Carolina Football Club (USL Championship), Kingborough Lions (Australian 2nd Division), and Atlantic United.
Fury Head Coach Justin Terranova added, "I am very excited to begin the foundation of our team. Cameron is an experienced pro, and will bring the attitude we need to compete in NISL. Kenneth will be a team leader in goal, Jason is versatile and brings the ability to score, and Horacio or "Guti" will create goals and be a fan favorite for sure."
Jason McCartney played 4 four years at Emory 2014-2018. Transitioned to forward after 2 years. Finished senior season with 13 goals. All-Conference 1st team twice, All-region 1st team, All-Academic American twice, D3 All-American.
Kenneth Perkinson played goalkeeper two years at University of North Carolina at Pembroke. In the two years he was there he was second team all-conference. Transferred to Winthrop University in 2016 where he was the team MVP in 2016 and in 2017 was Winthrop male scholar athlete of the year. Played for the Myrtle Beach Mutiny from 2014-2018. Played in the NPL Tasmania for the Kingborough Lions United FC in 2019.

ABOUT THE FAYETTEVILLE FURY:
The Fayetteville Fury was officially announced on June 7, 2021, as the second franchise in the National Indoor Soccer League. The team will host 12 regular season home games this winter at the Crown Center. Each game-night will feature a Men’s and Women’s Doubleheader.
