Fury hire Jay Burbee as HC/AGM

(Fury announces, Jay Burbee, as Head Coach/Assistant General Manager)

Fayetteville, NC -  Fayetteville Fury announced today the hiring of Jay Burbee as the new Head Coach for both the Women's and the National Championship Men’s team as well as the Assistant GM. 

Jay Burbee brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the Fayetteville Fury organization. He has a BS in Sport Management from California University of PA, and an MS in Recreation and Sport Sciences with a concentration in Coaching Education from Ohio University, he also has a USSF National B Coaching License. He has coached two years of Semi-Professional soccer in the UPSL, 4 years of experience as a college head coach at Wake Technical Community College, 4 years of experience at the ODP level for PA West Soccer, and he coached for numerous youth clubs in both North Carolina and Pennsylvania. 

Burbee will also serve as the Assistant GM, as the organization looks to build on last season's postseason momentum.  Fury General Manager, Terry Foster, added “ I look forward to having Jay with us going into the 2023 season, with his sports management background and his years of experience he will be a great addition on and off the field."  The Fury, will open the 2022/2023 NISL season in December as the Men’s team looks to defend as the NISL's Champion, while the Women's team look to bounce back strong already re-signing several key players from a very talented 2022 roster,  "I am excited and eager to begin my tenure as the Head Coach and Assistant G.M. with the Fury. This has been a long journey to finally coach at the professional level, and I am ready to overcome whatever challenges we face not just this season but for years to come", quoted Coach Burbee.  Tryouts for the 2022/2023 season will be announced soon.

The National Indoor Soccer League was founded in January 2021 by a group of seasoned sports team/league owners with over 50 years of ownership experience. The league features both a Men's & Women's Division, competing in double header game days over a 20-game regular season that takes place between the months of December and April. Current teams include Central FL Crusaders (Orlando), Columbus Rapids (Georgia), Fayetteville Fury, Memphis Americans, Rome Gladiators (Georgia), and Tampa Bay Strikers. The NISL is committed to promoting and supporting our member teams, while providing an avenue for players, coaches, and front office staff to develop their skills and gain exposure for opportunities at higher levels, all while providing high-quality, affordable entertainment in the communities we serve.
