Athletic Club Fury and Fayetteville Fury Announce Strategic Partnership with Hernandez Complex in Lumberton

Partnership Agreement

LUMBERTON, NC — 8/16/2025 — Athletic Club Fury, an expansion of the Fayetteville Fury, proudly announces a new partnership with the Hernandez Complex (379 Parnell Rd, Lumberton, NC) to expand youth and community soccer programming in the region. This collaboration marks an important step in bringing accessible, professionally structured soccer to families across Lumberton, Pembroke, St. Pauls, Fairmont, Parkton, Maxton, and Red Springs.

The partnership establishes the Hernandez Complex as the official home of Athletic Club Fury’s recreational programs, providing a central location for training, matches, and community soccer activities.

“This partnership reflects our mission to grow the game beyond Fayetteville and bring opportunities to neighboring communities,” said Al Florez, Senior Advisor for Athletic Club Fury. “The Hernandez Complex provides an ideal facility to serve families who have long deserved high-quality recreational programming close to home.”

As part of the partnership, Athletic Club Fury will launch multiple community-based initiatives at the Hernandez Complex, including its flagship MLS GO recreational program beginning November 1, 2025. MLS GO, Major League Soccer’s official recreational league, will give local players ages 5–17 a chance to play in an inclusive, fun, and developmental environment while feeling connected to the professional game.

“We are thrilled to bring this partnership to life,” said Ann Marie, Director of Youth Programs. “Working with the Hernandez Complex means we can better serve families in Robeson County and surrounding areas, ensuring soccer is not only accessible but also meaningful.”

“Athletic Club Fury represents the natural expansion of the Fayetteville Fury’s mission,” said Phil Lin, Club Owner. “By partnering with the Hernandez Complex, we’re able to showcase our recreational programs like MLS GO, creating a bridge between grassroots soccer and the professional environment in our communities.”
